According to ISO 8402, traceability in manufacturing represents "the ability to trace the history, application, or location of an entity by means of recorded identifications." Our customers sometimes require the added peace of mind that this capability provides. It’s for this reason that Lexco Cable actively utilizes a variety of technologies including laser marking to ensure its parts can match the requirements of customers.

When Traceability Is Vital

Some products require much higher levels of traceability than others. This can include specific data such as the date an item was manufactured, the lot number, the product number, or the specific part number. Traditional methods were limited in providing these benefits. The best way to mark a product is with a permanent marking, which more recent advancements make possible.

In the video below, you can see a conduit being marked with a laser marking system utilized by Lexco Cable for just this purpose.

This conduit will be used in a push pull control assembly, and each of these components will be carefully marked with the data required by the customer, a service Lexco is proud to offer to any who require it.
